FERMANOX® Type BV for small capacities

The FERMANOX® BV type systems are suitable for smaller water treatment capacities. For these systems, a water supply from one borehole is sufficient.

FERMANOX® water treatment systems all work according to the same basic principle and therefore combine the advantages of efficient and environmentally friendly operation with comparatively low costs.

However, the requirements for a water treatment system differ depending on the application and size.

Therefore, we offer a range of different basic types for different water consumption and control requirements, which are optimally designed for these applications.

Households, private water suppliers, small farms, irrigation & sprinkling, water for cleaning processes.

Flow diagram for a water supply system with FERMANOX® system type BV:
  1. In the evenings, the pressureless tank of the FERMANOX system is filled with water from the water supply.
  2. This water is enriched with oxygen from the ambient air in an injector with a saturation rate of up to 98%. At the same time, excess carbon dioxide is removed, thus achieving a better pH value.
  3. During the night when consumption is low, the water flows back into the water-bearing soil layers via the borehole well.
  4. The oxygen carried along is distributed in the area around the well and sets the natural self-cleaning process in motion.
  5. A multiple amount of pure, treated water can then be extracted from the aquifer.

In the consumption-dependently controlled FERMANOX® system type BV, the amount of water used is measured with a contact water meter.

The control then always adjusts the treatment capacity to the actual water withdrawal. If the operator takes too little water, the nightly introduction of oxygen-rich water into the aquifer is suspended for one or more days. If the normal treatment capacity is significantly exceeded, the system switches on a second water return on that day so that a correspondingly higher treatment capacity is available. The consumption-dependently controlled system also monitors itself and issues an alarm if there are deviations from normal operation.

The right ratio of extraction and enrichment is of crucial importance for the success of the process. Specifically, the return volume must be adapted to the daily water requirement and the raw water quality of the groundwater. Under the type designation BV, we therefore offer 10 different standard sizes and additional special designs that are adapted to the local conditions. The selection of the right FERMANOX system can only be made after we have carried out an individual design.

If these parameters deviate significantly from the original starting data in the future (e.g. due to an increase in water requirements), an existing system must be redesigned by the manufacturer in order to avoid calcification of the wells.

In cases where the actual water requirement is relatively constant and not subject to fluctuations (e.g. seasonal due to garden irrigation), reliable treatment can also be ensured by a FERMANOX® system of type BZ with a simple timer. However, this more cost-effective variant no longer offers the advantage of flexible adjustment of the treatment output and has no option for self-monitoring.
